| PRESS RELEASE – 15 April 07
Fellowship award for
Paul Haley
Director of specialist Welsh firm BHBi Consultancy
is awarded Fellowship status by UK professional governing body
The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Paul Haley, director of strategic operations
at Cardiff-based BHBi Consultancy Ltd, was recently elected to
FIIA by the Institute’s Council of Directors. Paul has been
a member MIIA since 1992 and is currently vice chair of the South-West
District Committee.
He organised the 2006 conference at the Celtic
Manor and is busy putting the finishing touches on the 30th Anniversary
Conference of the District in May.
Paul is a strong advocate for the establishment
of a Welsh District to ensure that the profession is represented
at the highest governance levels within the National Assembly.
His award is in recognition of the valuable contribution to the
Institute and to the development of the internal auditing profession.
Fellowship is the highest award given by the
IIA and demonstrates that the holder is a senior, active and committed
member of the internal auditing profession.
Paul said, "I am honoured to receive the
Fellowship Award from the Institute and will continue to promote
the Profession. I am also delighted that the Institute has agreed
to establish a Welsh District following the representations that
I've made, which will make a positive impact on corporate governance,
risk management, and internal control through professional internal
auditors in Wales."
Applications for fellowship are considered
by the Council of Directors, the governing body of the Institute.
Fellowships are not awarded lightly, and persons who wish to apply
or nominate someone for fellowship must make a compelling case
and submit a full, detailed and accurate application before the
case can be submitted to the Council.
