Course Description

Awarding Body: IT Audit Training

This course is designed for anyone requiring a basic understanding of IBM Mainframe environment and z/OS as an operating system.

(2 days)

 

This includes audit and security personnel, managerial positions and all delegates requiring asolid grounding in the IBM

Mainframe before embarking on more in-depth training.

 

There are no prerequisites for attending.

 

The course will introduce delegates to the z/OS operating system and the IBM systems on which it runs.

It introduces z/OS terminology and explains the main concepts employed by z/OS in performing its functions.

Specific topics include:

  • The z/OS operating system;
  • looking after data in z/OS; data formats;
  • running work in z/OS;
  •  UNIX Services and WebSphere;
  •  z/OS facilities including RACF and Security Server,
  •  the operators view of z/OS.
